Cockshutt

The Cockshutt Plow Company produced several implements in addition to plows. In 1946 the first Cockshutt tractor was introduced in Canada. Some tractors that were produced by Cockshutt were marketed in the United States under the Co-op and Farmcrest names. Cockshutt sold tractors not only in Canada but the US and overseas as well.

history

In 1877 the Cockshutt Plow Company was formed in Canada. Around 1924 Cockshutt began marketing other tractor brands like Hart-Parr and Allis-Chalmers. In 1946 Cockshutt made history with the first tractor to offer independent PTO for the time. White Motor Corporation bought the Cockshutt Company in 1962. Oliver tractors were marketed under Cockshutt for a short time, but the Cockshutt line ended with the purchase by White in 1962.
