Tractor Info

1908-1930

Electric Wheel Company offered its first traction truck in 1908. This affair was designed for customer-mounted engines — in this case, a two-cylinder, two-cycle motor, giving a very good ratio of weight to horsepower. With only slight modifications, it was possible to mount almost any stationary engine within the size and horsepower limitations of the running gear. Success with traction trucks led the company into a successful career as tractor builders.
