Tractor Info

A two-cylinder horizontally opposed engine propelled the Steel King Motor Plow. In 1914, this Detroit-based firm presented their idea of the perfect farm tractor. Its mounted plows were easily detachable for other farm uses. The selective speed transmission provided two forward speeds and one reverse. Probably one of the greatest weaknesses of this tractor was its cone clutch — a style not noted for smooth operation. This 18-horsepower, 4,000-pound outfit sold at $950 complete with a two-bottom plow.
