Tractor Info

1921-1927

Bate’s first full-fledged crawler tractor was the “ Industrial 25” built from 1924 to 1928. The Bates “ 40” of the same design was offered from 1924 to 1929. These models used a pair of steering handles mounted on a vertical shaft. This shaft in turn controlled the track clutches. A Beaver 4 1/4 x 6 i-inch motor was used in the “ 25”, and a Waukesha 5 x 6 1/2-inch four-cylinder motor powered the Bates “40”.
