Tractor Info

1914-1916

Rated as a 15-22, the “ Little Red Devil” was Hart-Parr’s
first lightweight model. This outfit had no transmission or
differential, and sported a two-cylinder, two-cycle engine.
Reverse ground travel was obtained by reversing the
engine while operating at a slow idle. The technique involved
cutting off the spark until the engine almost came
to a stop, then throwing the timing lever in the other
direction. It has been said that Hart-Parr intentionally
built this one-off outfit to prove that their heavy weight
models were the most practical and efficient style. Since
the company was ostensibly in the tractor business to
make money, the “ Little Devil” boils down to a misjudgment
of the market. It was built from 1914 to 1916.
