Tractor Info

1929

In 1929, United presented its three-plow tractor. The company was organized by some 32 independent implement makers and distributors with combined assets of $125 million dollars. Allis-Chalmers built this tractor — a four-cylinder outfit with a 4 1/4 inch bore and 5-inch stroke. After a short time, the venture folded, and Allis-Chalmers renamed this tractor as their Model U.
