With the introduction of the Oliver Super 66, a 12-volt electrical system became standard equipment. Oliver Super 66 tractors were available in numerous configurations, including the single-front axle shown here. Also built was an adjustable wide-front axle. The Super 66 could also be secured in a diesel version. The latter was the subject of Nebraska Test No. 544, where it delivered a maximum of 29.09 drawbar horsepower. Oliver sold the diesel row-crop version for about $3,300, while the comparable gasoline style was priced at $2,700. Both used an engine having a displacement of 144 cubic inches.
