Model Information
1953
After the 1931-37 period, the “28” Industrial was also known as the “90” and the “99”. Regular equipment with this industrial model included an upholstered seat, complete with backrest, emergency parking brake, dual air cleaner, and a PTO shaft. Options included electric lights and a spring-mounted front axle. The Oliver 99 was not tested in Nebraska until 1950, and the results of this test appear under No. 451. A photograph of the actual test shows the early hood and grille design, with the streamlined hood and grille coming later. The subject of the test used a 4 3/4 x 6 1/4 inch bore and stroke in its four cylinders. This
yielded a 443 ci displacement. In Test No. 451 the Oliver 99 yielded slightly over G2 maximum belt horsepower. In 1948 the Oliver 99 on rubber tires was listed at $2,544.
