No repairs or adjustments were necessary during 40 1/2 hours of operating time. The selective gear fixed-ratio transmission offered sixteen forward speeds ranging from 1.8 to 21.0 mph. Using eighth gear, the two-hour economy run at 249.69 maximum available drawbar horsepower noted a pull of 15,973 pounds at 6.24 mph with slippage totaling 3.14%. Fuel economy for this test totaled 14.82 horsepower hours per gallon. The ten-hour run at 75% pull indicated an economy of 14.35 horsepower hours per gallon of fuel under a load of 206.41 drawbar horsepower. Also manifested was a pull of 12,401 pounds at 6.24 mph with slippage totaling 3.14%. Weighing in at 32,460 pounds, this tractor was tested without the use of additional ballast. Standard equipment included 720-665/28.1-26P tires. Remarks accompanying this test indicated that the PTO reduction case had to be cooled with a fan to prevent overheating.
