Model Information
1940 - 1948
Oliver 60 tractors made their debut in 1940. This little four-cylinder model carried a 3 5/16 x 3 1/2 inch bore and stroke. It operated at 1,500 rpm and had a 120 ci displacement. Oliver 60 tractors were available on Tip-Toe wheels or could be furnished with rubber tires. The 60 HC tractor, operating on gasoline, was tested at Nebraska under No. 375 of 1941. This test was run using rubber tires and yielded nearly 17 drawbar horsepower. On the belt, it yielded almost 19 horsepower. On steel wheels, as shown here, it sold for about $957. Apparently, the Oliver 60 Row-Crop model was built with only the HC gasoline engine. If it was indeed available with the KD engine, existing advertising material makes little or no mention of this possibility.
