Tractor Info

1958-1963

Farmall 560 tractors were one of the most popular of anything built during this period. Available in gasoline, propane, or diesel engine styles, the 560 was a five-plow tractor with approximately 60 horsepower. Farmers liked the smooth response of the big six-cylinder engine. Independent power take-off and the Torque Amplifier system further enhanced this model. In this scene, Farmall 560 tractors are leaving an IH assembly line. An IH six-cylinder D-282 engine was standard equipment for this model, having a 3 11/16 x 4 25/64-inch bore and stroke. Farmers liked the Farmall 560 gasoline style with its 60 drawbar horsepower capacity. This power, combined with the Torque Amplifier for tough spots made the 560 a popular choice on thousands of farms. Greater tractor horsepower brought with it an increased demand for power-matched implements.
