Tractor Info

1958-1963

Either 2 or 3-point Fast-Hitch was available on the International 340 Utility tractor, first offered in 1958. Other innovations were IH Traction-Control and Tel-A-Depth, giving a new dimension to Farmall mounted implements. Power steering was optionally available. Other options included the power-adjusted rear wheels shown on this model. The combination of the three-point system, draft control, and other features made plowing an easy job instead of drudgery. Production of the Farmall 340 and International 340 models ended in 1963. In Nebraska Test No. 665 of September 1958, the Farmall 340 gave 31.76 drawbar and 34.74 belt horsepower in the maximum load tests. An IH C-135 four-cylinder engine was featured. It had a 3 1/4-inch bore and a 4 1/16-inch stroke.
