history

In 1929, United presented its three-plow tractor. The company was organized by some 32 independent implement makers and distributors with combined assets of $125 million dollars. Allis-Chalmers built this tractor, a four-cylinder rig with a 4.5 in bore and 5-inch stroke. After a short time, the venture folded, and Allis-Chalmers renamed this tractor as their Model U.
