history

After changing to the Leader Tractor Company in 1940 they experienced a lot of difficulties around 1943 due to WW II which stopped the tractor business. Around 1945 they were able to purchase steel again and the Brockway family got back to building tractors, these tractors were now powered by a Hercules IXB-5 engine. By 1948 Walter Schott controlled most of the production of the Leader tractors and other farm equipment manufactured by the Brockways. Leader Tractor Company closed in the mid 1950’s under Walter Schott’s control.
