McCormick-Deering

The McCormick name was one that eventually became apart of International Harvester. McCormick-Deering was used on all standard wide front tractors for around three decades until it was eventually dropped in favor of the International name.

history

Cyrus Hall McCormick founded the McCormick Harvesting Machine Co. in 1831 in Raphine, Virgina, on the McCormick Farm. Cyrus Hall McCormick was originally known for his successful development of the reaper which he demonstrated in July of 1831. Deering Harvester Company formed another major root of International Harvester Company. When William Deering became involved in the harvester business, Cyrus Hall McCormick had been at it for about forty years. The McCormick and Deering companies would merge around 1902 to form the International Harvester Company many tractors were still branded McCormick-Deering.
