Tractor Info

1909-?

The Universal was offered only in an 18-horsepower size. A double-opposed motor with a 7 1/2 inch bore and 8-inch stroke operated at 600 RPM. The cylinders were cast with the crankcase but used removable cylinder heads. The 10-inch long pistons were a unique feature. Proof of the ruggedness built into the Universal tractor is evident from the 3 1/2 inch crankshaft, an unusually large size for an 18-horsepower tractor. Despite its ample design, the Universal only weighed 9,000 pounds.
