Oliver built the Super 55 in a diesel-powered model. This tractor also carried a 144 cubic inch, four-cylinder engine, but with a compression ration of 15.75:1. Weighing about 3,500 pounds, the Super 55 Diesel was tested at Nebraska in September 1954. It delivered nearly 29 maximum drawbar harsepower, along with slightly over 34 belt horsepower. While the Super 55 HC model was priced at about $2,075, the Super 55 Diesel listed at $2,560. These prices included lights, belt pulley, pto shaft, and hydraulic lift system.
