1940-1953

The I-4 McCormick-Deering was modified to be a road roller for the Garrison Construction Company of Kentucky. The I-4 is the industrial version of the McCormick-Deering W-4 Tractor. The W-4 was built from about 1940 to 1953 with an International Harvester 4-cylinder, 152 cubic-inch gasoline or distillate engine that could do 23 horsepower on the drawbar and 26 horsepower on the belt. This road roller is a pretty cool piece of American construction history!
