Model Information
1954-1955
Weighing 6,089 pounds, this tractor used four 13-24 tires and featured forward speeds of 2.16, 3.41, 4.79, and 13.86 mph. Since no power-take-off or belt pulley was available, no data concerning brake horsepower economy or maximum engine torque can be secured. During Test A the fuel tank began to leak and was replaced with a new one. Otherwise, no repairs or adjustments were noted during 41 hours of operating time. This tractor was equipped with a Continental four-cylinder diesel engine rated at 1,800 rpm and carrying a 3 7/8 x 5 1/2 inch bore and stroke for a 260 CID. The compression ratio was 15:1. Test G gave a low-gear maximum pull of 6,999 pounds at 1.85 mph, but an additional 4,376 pounds of weight was distributed over the four drive wheels during this test and Test H. Test H was run in third gear, and with a rated load of 33.95 drawbar horsepower, a pull of 2,789 pounds was achieved at 4.56 mph against a slippage of 3.61%. Fuel economy in this test came to 11.67 horsepower hours per gallon of diesel fuel.
