Hydrostatic drive, dual rear wheels, and a fully enclosed cab were optional features found on this Farmall 966 Specially designed rubber mountings absorbed vibration-reducing noise within the cab and contributed to great* operator comfort with less fatigue. Specially honed wet cylinder sleeves minimized overhaul costs and spin-off type oil and air filters simplified maintenance. Available only with a diesel engine, the Farmall 966 trac­tor boasted approximately 100 PTO horsepower and a 10,000-pound drawbar pull at 2.80 MPH. Harvester’s D-414 six-cylinder diesel engine was featured, having a 4.30 x 4.75-inch bore and stroke. Standard equipment in­cluded 18.4 x 34 rear tires, along with a differential lock, and deluxe fenders. A full set of gauges permitted cons­tant monitoring of all important functions.
