Tractor Info

1960 - 1963

In 1960 Oliver produced their little 440 tractors. It was an upgraded version of the earlier Super 44 series. This model used a small four-cylinder Continental engine with an L-head design. Rated at 1,800 rpm, it carried a 3 3/16 x 4 3/8 inch bore and stroke. The offset design made it an ideal cultivating tractor, and the adjustable wide-front axle was standard equipment. Oliver Corporation might have continued this tractor in production for a few years. However, on November 1, 1960, the Oliver Corporation became a wholly-owned subsidiary of White Motors. With a change in corporate management, the vision for the future obviously changed.
