Tractor Info

1927

Originally introduced as the Baker 25-50, this tractor assumed a 43-67 rating shortly after completion of this 1929 test. At rated drawbar load, it pulled 4,327 pounds at 3.82 mph, experiencing slippage of only 4.6%. Final calculations revealed 43.57 drawbar horsepower on this test. The fuel economy came in at 5.58 horsepower per gallon of gasoline. Maximum drawbar tests were made in both forward gears, but in low gear, the 43-67 pulled 7,840 pounds at 2.67 mph with slippage of 9.26%, for a total of 55.72 drawbar horsepower. However, it was necessary to lock the gears in mesh during the high gear maximum and rated load drawbar tests. The rated brake horsepower test at 67.37 horsepower ended with an economy of 9.31 horsepower hours per gallon and total consumption of 7.236 gallons per hour. The economy rating dropped to 9.18 at maximum load of 75.88 brake horsepower- fuel consumption in this test was slightly over 8 1/4 gallons of gasoline per hour. A LeRoi four-cylinder vertical engine powered the 43-67. Of I-head design, it used a 5 1/2 x 7-inch bore and stroke with a rated speed of 1,100 rpm. Included was an Eisemann G4 magneto, Stromberg M-4 carburetor, and Pomona air cleaner. The total weight was 10,575 pounds.
