The 2400B was an industrial tractor with either an IH 2.9L three-cylinder diesel engine, an IH 2.6L four-cylinder gasoline engine, or an IH 2.9L four-cylinder gasoline engine with a 2WD chassis. Other variants available were the 2400B utility tractor, equipped with a utility loader, the 2405B utility tractor, equipped with a utility loader, the 2410B payloader, equipped with a heavy-duty Payloader in which a power-beyond provided dedicated hydraulics to the loader, and the 2412B loader-backhoe, equipped with the heavy-duty pay loader and backhoe.
