Model Information
1977-1982
The 2-180 White Field Boss had a hydraulic shift transmission and other up-front features. The front-end weights were necessary when using three-point implements. Enclosed cabs provided unprecedented comfort and convenience for the operator. Although these models represented the time’s best efforts in modern tractors, farm requirements called for continued research that would bring unprecedented power, performance, and convenience to the White Field Boss tractors. A Caterpillar 3208 V-8 diesel engine was featured in the White 2-180 tractor. Other engine data included a 4.5 x 5-inch bore and stroke, 636 CID, and a 16.5:1 compression ratio. With a shipping weight of 14,540 pounds, the 2-180 carried a lot of big capacities — a 70-gallon fuel tank, 46.5-gallon cooling system, and a dual plate 13-inch clutch. A differential-lock could be engaged on the go. Ground speeds varied from 2.3 to 19.0 MPH. Many optional features were also available. A four-wheel-drive model was optionally available
