Model Information
1918-1921
From 1918 to 1921, G. S. & M. produced their 12-24 Beaver tractor. It used a Waukesha four-cylinder 4 1/2 x 6 3/4 inch motor and weighed 5,800 pounds. A friction drive transmission provided seven speeds forward or reverse. The belt pulley was also driven through the friction disc, thus allowing the same speed selection for belt work. Goold, Shapley, & Muir Company apparently quit the tractor business about 1922. Accurate information is not presently available, but indications are that the Great Depression of the 1930s finished off the company.
