White Farm Equipment Co.

White began building the 1855 Oliver in 1969. It was identical to the Minneapolis-Moline G 940. Five models were available. The other sizes in the series were 1255, 1355, 1555, 1655, 1755, and 1955. This gave a horsepower range up to 108 PTO horsepower and included all the latest features.

White Motor Company Corporation acquired Oliver Corporation as a wholly-owned subsidiary on November 1, 1960. In February 1962, white Motors also purchased Cockshutt Farm Equipment Company, Ltd. of Brantford, Ontario as a subsidiary of Oliver. Cockshutt dated back to 1839. The Minneapolis-Moline Company became a White subsidiary in 1963. This company had resulted from a merger many years before and is discussed under its own heading. In 1969, Minneapolis-Moline, Oliver, and Cockshutt formed White Farm Equipment Company with headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois. this is a division of White Motor Corporation, Cleveland, Ohio.
