Wallis Tractor Company

Production for the Wallis company first began with tractors weighing up to 30,000 pounds and having horsepower ratings of up to 80 these tractors were known as the Wallis Bear. These monstrous tractors were very unpopular but were still manufactured for over 11 years. Wallis had the first four-cycle engine and the unit frame design.

Wallis Tractor Company was founded in 1902 by H.M. Wallis, the son-in-law of J.I. Case. Wallis was the president of J.I. Case Plow works for many years afte the death of J.I. Case. Arounf 1919 Wallis Tractor Company merged into J.I. Case Plow Works Company and eventually Massey-Harris. Massey-Harris went on to keep the Wallis tractors and sold the rights to the Case name. In 1931 Massey-Harris discontinued the marketing of Wallis tractors.
