history

In 1895, Shaw Manufacturing built its first steam engine. They purchased the Kokomo Motorcycle Company of Kokomo Indiana in 1911. The Shaw “Du-All” was patented in 1924. Beginning in the early 1930s, Shaw made their debut with a garden tractor. About 1940 the Model HY8 tractor appeared. It was a tiny outfit with a single-cylinder Wisconsin engine. Designed specifically for truck gardens and small farms, the Shaw tractor was available until the late 1940s. The company was sold to Bush Hog in 1962 and all records were destroyed.
