During the 1950s, Harris offered several models of a four-wheel-drive tractor. The unit was forward controlled, with the engine in the rear, giving the operator excellent visibility forward, but making it virtually impossible to see the plows or other towed implements.

Harris Manufacturing Company was strarted by George H. Harris in 1902. The company was incorporated in 1904. They began as a repair shop for harvesting equipment. By 1912, plans were made for a new factory due to the high demand for gas harvesters. They closed in 1956.
