CO-OP

The CO-OP company history is a confusing one. It is said that the CO-OP tractors originated in the 1930s when farmers were looking for a more economical source of tractor. The earlier model tractors were designed by Dent Parrett, formerly of Parrett Tractor, they were built in Michigan and used multiple Chrysler components. After World War II the CO-OP company contracted with the Cockshutt company of Canada which resulted in the familiar orange E series. Poor sales resulted in CO-OP selling to Cockshutt and discontinuing their line in the early 1950’s.
