Baby Savidge 8-16 | 1920 |
The Backus Tractor Company was responsible for the “Baby Savidge” tractor produced in 1920. The 8-16 model used a Victory four-cylinder 3 1/2 x 5 engine. It weighed 3,500 pounds and sold for $1,395.
Originally organized as the Savidge Tractor Company in 1917, there appears to have been little activity prior to 1920, and no activity at all after that time. Wm. Savidge, R.H. Dalby, and F. L. Wilson were the incorporators. Original capitalization was $50,000.
