B.F. Avery & Sons
The B.F. Avery company was started by Benjamin Franklin Avery. The first motorized machine for the company was the Louisville Motor Plow which was a 20 hp engine on a chassis with two plows mounted underneath. Avery then began marketing tractors that were built for them by Huber Manufacturing. Around 1936 Cletrac built the General GG three-wheeled tractor for B.F. Avery. The Avery manufacturing facility in Louisville was closed for good in 1955. It was one of the largest factories in Louisville.

In 1825 Benjamin Franklin Avery began his career as a blacksmith in Clarksville,VA. Around 1845 he moved to Louisville, KY where the Avery Plow Factory began. In 1915 BF Avery ventured into the tractor business with his 20 horsepower unit that was well known because it could be completely taking apart by removing 8 bolts. Minneapolis-Moline Company took over B.F. Avery in 1951 but they continued to market the B.F. Avery name until 1958.
