During the 1914-1920 period, many companies built three-wheeled tractors. Among them was the Andrews Tractor Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Construction of the Andrews tractor was very simple. Only two gears were used in the entire machine. It had a friction-drive transmission that provided ground speeds of 1 to 4 mph.
In 1919, George C. Andrews organized the Andrews Tractor Company. He created this company to build the tractor he had designed. The patent he applied for on the drive mechanism of his tractor was issued in 1919. In 1921, the company was reorganized into the Andrews-Kincade Tractor Company.
