A Caterpillar engine powered the big White 4-150 tractor. A V-8, it had a 636 CID with a 4.5-inch bore and 5-inch stroke, direct-injection diesel. A 16.5:1 compression ratio and a rated speed of 2,800 RPM round out the basic engine specs on this model. This was the first tractor with the “Boss” styling and the first to be marketed strictly as a “White”. It was introduced in 1974.
