Detroit Tractor Co.
In 1914, Detroit Tractor Company advertised an odd-looking tractor. It was designed to be directly connected to the towed implement, such as a grain binder. It was ideal for the horse farmer since it drove with lines just like a team. All functions of starting, stopping, and steering was accomplished using the lines.

The Detroit Tractor Company was organized in March of 1913. This company was an overshoot of Baker & Baker. They were set up to build Baker tractors but later moved to Layfayette, Indiana. The Detroit Tractor was sold in 1914. Despite its unusual design, or perhaps because of it, the Detroit was marketed for only a short time.
