From all appearances, the Frick Model A entered Test No. 47 with a nominal manufacturer’s rating of 25 belt horsepower. Subsequent to this test, the rating was lowered by 5 horsepower to stay within the test results. In the offical test scores, 22.4 brake horsepower was developed on the rated load test. Fuel economy was slightly lower for the 12-20 than for its larger brother noted in Test No. 46, coming to 6.69 horsepower hours per gallon. Fuel in consumption totalled 3.35 gallons of kerosene per hour. This fuel was used throughout the test procudures. A maximum of 22.31 was used throughout the test procudures. A maximum of 14.37 drawbar horsepower was recorded, with a pull of 2,340 pounds. An Erd motor was featured in the 12-20 — it carried a 4×6 inch bore and stroke with a rated speed of 900 rpm. Like the larger 15-28 model, it was of vertical, four-cylinder, valve-in-head design. Two forward speeds of 2.3 and 3.8 were provided. Regular equipment included a Kingston Model L magneto and a Kingston carburetor.
