Model Information
1918-?
Ohio Manufacturing Company listed a small two-cylinder tractor in 1916, but little more is known of it. By 1918 the Whitney 9-18 appeared. It used a Gile two-cylinder horizontally opposed engine with a 5 1/2-inch bore and 6 1/2-inch stroke. Despite the open chain final drives, the Whitney possessed a three-speed selective sliding gear transmission with speeds up to 4 MPH. Weighing but 3,000 pounds, the Whitney sold for $1,175. By 1921, Ohio Manufacturing Company was renamed the Whitney Tractor Company.
