In production from 1958 to 1961 the Fordson Dexta was powered by either a ford-perkins 2.4L 3-cylinder diesel engine or a
standard 2.2L 4-cylinder gasoline engine. The gasoline version was produced in much smaller numbers and the Dextra was sold in the United Stated under the Diesel 2000. This tractor had a 4×2 2WD chassis, a 6 speed transmission, and a AC Delco air cleaner.
