Tractor Info

1965-1969

This was Farmall’s first turbocharged tractor, using the 806’s diesel engine. They used a dual-range four-speed transmission for a total of eight gears. A factory cab was available as well as both wide, narrow, and powered front axels, and dual rear wheels were standard. It had narrow front wheels for crop work, but the IH 1206 had a wide axle. A stronger IH 1206 Wheatland model was offered. The tires of early models were damaged because the 1206 was so powerful and special heavy-duty tires were developed by Goodyear and Firestone to address the problem.
