“ Kerosene Annie” , the first Rumely tractor, underwent a few changes after the 1910 season, and burst forth in 1911 as the Type B, 25-45 OilPull.

Rumely employees went to work in the brand-new OilPull factory on February 21, 1910. The new tractor was known as the Type “B” and was rated at 25 drawbar and 45 belt horsepower. The “B” used two cylinders of 9 1/2 x 12 inch bore and stroke with an engine speed of 375 rpm. Although the “B” was of the same general design as the “E”, 30-60 tractor, it used somewhat smaller rear wheels having a diameter of 64 inches with a 26-inch face. Production of the “B“ continued into 1912. Rumely introduced the OilPull with a low-tension ignition system using a mechanically actuated igniter in each cylinder. Rumely summed up the advantages of this system by noting that “It gives better spark and the wiring is not as likely to go wrong.”

This tractor was the first Rumely Oilpull to come off the line, out of 935 produced there are 23 still known to exist. The model B is part of the heavy-weight class of Oilpulls, engineers created a custom carburetor for these tractors that injected a measured quantity of water with the fuel/air mix into the engine which improved the efficiency of the combustion. Known for its odd shape this model of Rumely’s had small looking rear wheels and a large radiator.
