1910-1915

Only 4 Type D, 45 horsepower tractors were initially built in 1910. This big outfit featured a two-cylinder engine with a 9 inch bore and 14 inch stroke. The cylinders laid side by side with the crank throws together, for an explosion every revolution, just like an opposed engine. The Titan 45 was entered in 1910 Winnipeg Competition, and walked away with a Silver Medal, being only a couple of points behind Gas Traction Company and their “Big 4” tractor. Note the “Reliance” emblem used on the earliest Titan models. At this time the tractors still used the early IHC trademark. For 1910, the Canadian Titan 45 has a list price of $2,700, f.o.b Winnipeg.

Only 1,319 of the Type D Titan 45 tractors were built at Milwaukee. Production totaled 186 for 1911, and jumped to 728 for 1912. Those built during 1913, 2914, and 1915 were rated as a 30-60. A redesigned Titan 30-60 followed from 1915 to 1917.
